Setting goals

Hello and welcome to another blog post. Today I wanted to make a quick post about the goals I've set for myself for the month of May. This doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to achieve them all by the end of May, but these are just some small changes I'd like to make. And what better time to set monthly goals than on the 6th day of said month???  There's nothing super big or extravagant in this list, it's all just little things. There's no better way to get all my thoughts out than to write them down, so that's precisely what I'm going to do.

1. Buy less.

So I have a spending problem, especially when it comes to clothes and room decor. So I'm challenging myself not to buy anything of the sort throughout the month of May. (Let's just ignore the fact that I've already purchased a pair of earrings this month, but i promise there won't be any more........) I think this will be good for my wallet and my mind. I prefer to own less things, having too much stuff is super stressful to me. This month I'm going to focus on sorting through everything I already own, and minimising my belongings. I am yet to complete my wardrobe cull and as a result my room looks like an absolute mess, but at least it's a semi-organised mess, so it's okay. Stay tuned for a blog post entitled 'wardrobe refresh; without buying anything new'.

2. Save more.

As mentioned in the previous point, I have a spending problem. I am the worst at saving money, and will save to a certain point and then spend most of it. Not an ideal situation. I'm planning on moving overseas for a little while once I've graduated from uni, so I need to save a fair bit of money to ensure I'm not just eating bread the entire time. (bread is great though, don't get me wrong). To help me out I think I'm going to get the bank to put a lock on my 'savings' account. This way I won't be able to just easily transfer it back into my main account. HAHa how sad it that? but I'm sure this is the only way I'm actually going to be able to save any money.

3. Take more time for myself.

I am the type of person who needs alone time to recharge. Lately I've been working a lot, going to uni a lot. And when I have any spare time I've been spending it with people. Which is great!!! but I also need to make sure I'm getting some down time, because I've been so extremely tired lately, which is resulting in me losing concentration and motivation. Not the best. I'm going to put in a more conscious effort to let myself have a bit of down time regularly. Hopefully this will help me to feel a little more on top of things and less tired.

4. Read more.

One of my biggest goals this year was to rediscover my love of reading. I used to be obsessed with books when I was younger (all 13 books in A series of unfortunate events were read at least 6 times each). As I said, I haven't been having much down time lately, hence I haven't been in the mood to read much. I'm going to make an effort to get through more books because I have bought heaps at op shops recently and they all sound amazing, but at my current reading rate I won't get through them all until about 2030.

5. Take care of my health.

I literally have the worst eating habits and my workout routine is non-existent. This month I need to make sure I'm putting good food into my body and getting some exercise in whenever I can, even if it's just a 20 minute stroll. This is most likely another factor of feeling tired and unmotivated constantly. I will let you know how I get on with this.... hopefully well, cause I really need to get on top of a regular routine.

I think that's more than enough things to work towards for now. Hopefully writing these down and sharing them with you all will actually motivate me to follow through.

Until next time, Sim x
