No, unfortunately in today’s post we are not discussing the beautiful luxury clothing and accessories brand of the same name, but rather the pain in the ass that is problematic skin.
Let me put it to you straight. Acne sucks. It’s something almost of all of deal with at some point in our lives, whether it be for years or only on a few rare occasions. I’ve tried everything. Proactive, facials, dermatologists, the pill. Everything. Some things even seemed to make it worse. After dealing with it for about 7 years, I’ve finally managed to get my skin somewhat under control.
It is far from perfect (like, really far). But looking on the positive side, it’s also far better than it’s been in years. I’m going to have to thank Avene for being my skin saviour.
Today’s post I’m going to talk you through my holy grail skincare products! Sometimes less is more, and I’ve found that keeping to only 3 or 4 products at one time is the best thing for my skin.
Of course, it goes without saying that everyone’s skin is different, so what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. But I thought I’d share my experience anyway! Even if it helps just one of you.

#1 Cleanance expert
This product helps to keep blackheads under control, and you know what, I think it does it’s job very well! I’ve noticed such an improvement since introducing this product into my skincare routine (which admittedly was kind of non-existent for while). It’s a very lightweight watery consistency which absorbs readily into your skin, which means no sticky residue. Yay!

#2 TriAcneal Expert
This product is perfect for keeping stubborn acne scars or bigger blemishes under control. You apply it in the evening before bed and It’s perfect for preventing bigger breakouts before they even happen! I definitely notice the difference if I miss using this for a night, definitely a must have!

#3 Cicalfate
Last but definitely not least, Avene’s ‘restorative skin cream’ does just that! It helps to heal and restore your skin after a breakout, and prevent infection if you’re really bad and tend to pick at spots like me (oops). It’s super moisturising, so I also apply it to any dry areas on my face!
If you’re going to get any product from Avene, it should definitely be this one!
Along with these 3 products, I’ve also found that using an anti bacterial cream, such as Savlon or Dettol, really helps if I get a particularly nasty breakout. It just ensures that the bacteria from the spot doesn’t spread or get worse!
I hope you have enjoyed this post and it has maybe been somewhat helpful!
Until next time,
Sim xx
